Once again, three Bradbury Group representatives are speaking at the FMA World-Class Roll Forming Workshop. The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association annual workshop offers small-group roll forming training sessions and networking events to those within the industry. The event will be held April 18 - 19, 2023, in Elgin, IL.
Matt Werner, Bradbury Group Senior Manager Global Marketing & Sales, will discuss the Justification for Roll Forming. Understanding the direct and indirect costs of roll forming will help determine if a specific part should be roll formed or manufactured by a different process. He will discuss the factors you need to consider when deciding whether to take on the roll forming project yourself or purchase the profiles from an outside vendor. Matt has served in various sales and marketing positions since joining The Bradbury Group in 2004. His vast industry knowledge will help you decide if roll forming is the next step for your business. Matt is a member of FMA's Roll Forming Council and an active member of the Metal Construction Association.
Joe Beck, President of Beck Automation, will lead a session on Encoder-based Length Controls. You will learn to achieve high-precision length control on computer-controlled roll forming lines. Learn how encoder-based length controls operate and the factors that affect length variance. Joe has been in the roll form industry for over 33 years. As a founder of Beck Automation, Joe develops state-of-the-art controls for the industry and understands the machines they run. Joe is also a member of FMA's Roll Forming Council.
Mark Volkmann, President of Metform International Ltd, will share his knowledge about Quality Considerations for Roll Forming Processes. In this session, Volkmann will discuss the key factors that influence your end-part quality and how incoming strip specifications impact the quality and tolerance of your part. He will also cover how product design and roll forming processes are interrelated. Volkmann, also an FMA Roll Forming Council member, enjoys helping roll forming customers with decisions regarding capital equipment investments and process improvement processes.
