The Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has announced that 200 high school seniors from across the state have been named 2025 Kansas Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholars. Bradbury is proud to share that two of our current machining apprentices, Ethan Blaylock and Joe Westerman, were among those recognized as 2025 CTE Scholars.

Established in 2017, the Kansas CTE Scholar program honors well-rounded, high-achieving students who have demonstrated exceptional performance in career and technical education as they complete their senior year of high school.

To be recognized as a Kansas CTE Scholar, students must meet several requirements:

  • Successfully complete at least three CTE credits, including two at the technical or application level, within a single career pathway.

  • Maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher in CTE coursework.

  • Demonstrate civic leadership through a project or complete a minimum of 40 hours of documented community service.

  • Achieve technical skill attainment by one or more of the following:

    • Earn an industry-recognized certification or a passing score on a third-party end-of-pathway assessment.

    • Earn an Excel in CTE qualifying credential aligned to their pathway.

    • Complete 9+ college credit hours toward a certificate or post-secondary program.

    • Participate in a high-quality work-based learning experience in their pathway.

Congratulations to Ethan and Joe! Your dedication, leadership, and technical skills are deeply valued, and we’re grateful for everything you’ve contributed and will continue to contribute to our business.
